The Loss Of Marbury

Knicks guard Stephon Marbury was active for a game last night at the Garden. He was having a great game putting up big numbers, but what he was unaware of was the fact that during the second half, his father was taken to a nearby hospital. Marbury was devastated to hear the news at the end of the game that his father had passed away.
This isn't the first loss of a family member of Marbury's. In addition to this, Marbury had lost his aunt a month before. He has had a rough year some would say, being booed on the court and facing family troubles off of it. Coach Isiah Thomas during an interview said, "We as a family, the Knicks family, we'll give him all the support and try to be there for him and his family through this terrible time." The coach granted Stephon to take off as many games as he pleases within the next month to try to regain himself as a person.
Marbury who was contacted by a reporter was quoted saying "I want to return soon, not only for myself, but to help out my second family in trying to make playoffs this year. I want to achieve the ultimate goal, and I want to do it for my father." It's still early in the season, but lets hope Marbury can achieve this task and become a well-respected player on the court as well.
